Inauguration of Chandigarh Carnival 2017
Chandigarh : 24th November : ALPHA news INDIA ;------ The most awaited annual event of the city beautiful, the Chandigarh Carnival 2017 was today inaugurated by Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, at Leisure Valley, sector-10, Chandigarh. The theme of the three day extravaganza this year is of INDRADHANUSH (Colour your life like a Rainbow). The inaugural ceremony was done in the presence of Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary-cum- Secretary Tourism, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Tourism, and Dr. Anshul Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group. The education partner of this grand event is Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh who would also be giving a chance to the visitors to participate in the daily draw, get lucky and win Tabs, Laptops and many more exciting prizes. To be a part of the lucky draw, visitors have to simply download the Swachhata-MoHUA App and register themselves.
The inaugural ceremony also included the flagging of beautiful and creative floats designed & formulated by the students of Arts College, Chandigarh. These floats based on varied themes are decorated with colourful papers in the shape of cartoon characters. A commendable performance was also executed by the Police band during inauguration. For car lovers, a Vintage car display has been set up at the Government Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
The Chandigarh Carnival 2017 consist of stalls exhibited by various academies, NGO's & Govt. Departments who have displayed various art & craft in different stalls, day long Cultural Programmes by various artists/performer on stage1, Amusement Park, Joy rides & Camel Rides for kids, along with various fun & frolic activities & Cartoon characters during the event. To satiate the appetite of food lovers, food Stalls have been installed by CIHM, AIHM, CITCO Da Vehra and much more. The 1st day of the Grand Carnival 2017 witnessed a Punjabi Musical Nite LIVE by Ninja on which began from 6:30 p.m. onward. Ninja performed on his famous melodies of oh kyu n jan saaley, Gall jattan Wali and Roi Na, which enthralled the huge gathered audience.
The Grand Carnival aims at providing a common platform to the residents, wherein they can come and share their talent with the masses. All the three days of the Carnival are well planned and packed with numerous activities. Competitions and events for every generation and taste of people are framed, so that everybody gets a chance to showcase their talent.
